Opened in February 2007, The Headley has undergone extensive renovation to provide local diners and visitors to the area an environment which we hope to become a home from home, where you can relax and unwind.

Owned by East Anglia's only 2 Michelin star chef Daniel Clifford, The Headley offers great traditional British dishes with a distinctive twist in its cool, comfortable and elegant surroundings.

Surrounded by some of England's finest countryside, The Headley is a truly lovely retreat, whether you are looking to enjoy lunch with friends, an intimate dinner or a family meal.

Since its opening, The Headley has been beautifully renovated to an exceptional standard where you can while away the hours, enjoy a family get-together or just simply come and relax. Enjoy meeting with friends or reading the weekend papers on one of the sumptuous leather sofas that surrounds the crackling log fires, or join us at the bar for a beer in a frozen glass.

Set across two floors, The Headley can offer a comfortable retreat downstairs with its flagstone flooring, sofas and seating areas or upstairs where you can sit and enjoy a meal looking out on the pretty views in comfort. Daniel Clifford, Chef Proprietor

A passionate chef, Clifford spends every available holiday break on gastronomic journeys to France, Italy and northern Spain, returning to England inspired to push forward the boundaries and experiment with textures, ingredient and flavour.

In 1998 Clifford joined Midsummer House in Cambridge, where he is now the acclaimed Chef Patron.

To his delight the first Michelin star was awarded in 2001, followed by its second in 2005. Two stars were also awarded by Egon Ronay in his 2005 Top 200 Restaurants in the UK Guide and 4 Rosettes were awarded by the AA Guide in 2006; as well as a host of awards from prestigious national publications.

Like his desire to experiment with cooking, Clifford wanted to experiment with the concept of good simple food and the environment in which it is served. The concept of The Headley is to provide a chic and laid back atmosphere for clients to enjoy great British classic dishes created under the guidance of Michelin recognition. Clifford wants to offer his patrons an environment where they can escape and enjoy a drink or a meal in some of England's finest countryside.

The concept of The Headley supports his own attitude towards food and cooking, both the enjoyment and the experience of food; making the most of the local produce to enhance his menus and support local and traditional trades. The Headley provides our customers with a perfect setting to settle both needs.

The Headley is a relaxing and warm environment which welcomes your celebrations.
