Kelly Brook, sexiest ever according to poll

If you’re tired of battling the bulge and think you have to be stick-thin to look respectable in a bikini, you might be relieved to know that ultra-curvy glamour girl Kelly Brook has been voted as having the sexiest bikini body ever.

The poll of 2,000 men by Debenhams department stores hailed the beautiful British actress as having the best bikini body, fending off competition from international sex symbols including former Bond babes Halle Berry and Ursula Andres, who took second and third places respectively.

While it’s hardly a surprise that men find the former model and actress’s body attractive, it will provide a welcome surprise to women who think they have to be excessively thin to look good.

No stranger to being at the top of such polls, Brook began her professional career as a topless model, moving on to make appearances on stage and screen before being awarded the title of FHM’s sexiest woman in 2005. Known for her curvaceous body, Brook is far from overweight, but her fuller healthy figure serves as a helpful reminder to women that all body types can look great.

Caroline Adams of Debenhams backs the finding. “Kelly Brook is a worthy winner,” she says. “She has a gorgeous figure and looks great on the beach. She’s curvy, sexy and confident too.”

Women of all shapes and sizes appeared in the top 10, from the voluptuous figure of Marilyn Monroe to the slimmer bodies of Kate Moss and Liz Hurley, emphasising the fact that women of any shape can look great in a bikini. It’s a fact that Adams feels may prove to be of some comfort to woman all over the country this summer.

“Despite knowing magazine shots of models in bikinis are airbrushed, it can make the average women feel worried about how they will look in a two-piece,” she says. “Many of us need a helping hand to create a svelte silhouette on the beach and our swimwear now caters for everybody.”

Brook has led a varied career to date, in modelling, television and film. Her modelling career began at the age of 16 after winning a beauty competition and she soon worked in a range of advertising campaigns, including one for underwear company Bravissimo, which specializes in bras and lingerie for larger cup sizes. Another was for Foster's beer.

It wasn’t long before the tall glamour model caught the eye of the editorial team of the Daily Star, which began featuring her as a page-three girl. After that she appeared on our TV screens, replacing Denise Van-Outen as a television presenter on The Big Breakfast, with co-host Johnny Vaughan. Then in 2005 she picked up the role of host of reality television programme Celebrity Love Island on ITV. Earlier this year she wowed her fans with her dancing skills when she appeared on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.
